The Power of Quiet Confidence

Imagine someone walked up to you and yelled, “That’s the ugliest shirt I’ve ever seen!”

But… you’re not wearing a shirt. You’re wearing a jacket.

You’d probably laugh it off. Why?
Because you know it’s not true.
It doesn’t land. It doesn’t stick. It doesn’t even enter your system.

But what if you were wearing a shirt you were insecure about?
Now that comment might sting. You might get defensive. You might try to justify it.

That’s the difference between knowing your truth and needing others to approve it.

In this week’s parsha, Korach starts an argument. The Mishna in Pirkei Avot (5:17) says:

“A machloket that is for the sake of Heaven will endure, and one that is not, will not endure. What is an example of a machloket for the sake of Heaven? Hillel and Shammai. Not for the sake of Heaven? Korach and his assembly.”

Wait. Why doesn’t it say Korach and Moshe? Weren’t they the two sides?

Because Moshe wasn’t arguing. He didn’t engage.
He didn’t defend himself. He didn’t post a rebuttal.
He fell on his face.

Why?

Because Moshe didn’t need validation.
His authority didn’t come from popularity — it came from Hashem.
And when you’re aligned with truth, you don’t need to scream it.
You don’t need to win the argument.
You don’t even need to have the argument.

Truth stands still.
And Hashem fights for it.

What This Teaches Us

Most of us spend our lives reacting—trying to prove ourselves, explain ourselves, defend our choices.

But when you live with bitachon, something changes.
You don’t need to explain.
You don’t need to convince.
You don’t need to worry who’s watching or judging.

You know Who sent you.
You know why you’re here.
You know Who’s in charge of the outcome.
