In Parshat Chukat, we encounter one of the most painful moments in the Torah.

Moshe is told to speak to the rock. Just speak. But under the weight of complaints and pressure, he hits it instead.

The water flows. But so does the decree.

Hashem says:
“Because you did not believe in Me to sanctify Me in the eyes of Bnei Yisrael, you will not bring this congregation into the land.”
(במדבר כ:יב)

It sounds like Moshe lacked emunah. But the Ramban says no — Moshe and Aharon did believe. The problem wasn’t their own faith. It was the missed opportunity to inspire emunah in others. Speaking to a rock and watching it pour water? That would’ve blown people away. That would’ve elevated their faith. That would’ve sanctified Hashem’s Name in their hearts.

And that’s the deeper message:

It’s not enough to believe. We have to live in a way that helps others believe.

Hashem doesn’t just want silent believers. He wants walking billboards of bitachon. People who light up the world with trust. Who handle challenges with calm. Who speak about Hashem naturally, like He’s part of every conversation — because He is.

Every moment is a chance to be a living Kiddush Hashem. Every challenge is a chance to show that Hashem’s Got You.

So the question becomes:
When people see you, do they walk away with more faith?

This week, let’s work not only on our own bitachon — but on being someone who spreads it.

You just read about becoming someone who spreads bitachon. Now it’s time to become that person.
