Bitachon vs. The Illusion of Control
“If he places his trust in his own wisdom and tactics… he will toil for nothing.”
Chovot Halevavot – Shaar Habitachon
Effort ≠ Control
You can make the plan. Run every scenario. Work harder. Push longer.
And still not control what happens next.
We often feel that if we just think hard enough or do enough, we can guarantee the outcome. But our responsibility is the effort. The results are in Hashem’s hands.
Bitachon means you show up and do your part, but you let Hashem decide the harvest.
Reflection
Trust doesn’t mean laziness. It means letting go of the illusion that you're in control.
Where am I carrying an outcome as if everything depends on me?
Today’s Avodah
Take one area where you’ve been overthinking or overworking.
Do the next thing that is yours to do, then say:
“Hashem, I’ll do my part, and I’ll trust You with the results.”
Carry today’s avodah with you and return tomorrow.

What is Habitachon?
Habitachon helps you build a daily practice of growing in bitachon: one Torah insight, one reflection, and one practical avodah, in about one minute.
The one minute is your daily minimum. The goal is not to finish more content. It is to return each day and gradually bring more trust in Hashem into real life.
Start with the guided seven-day beginning. Choose a dependable daily moment, protect the one-minute minimum, and then continue with the current Habitachon lesson each day.
Bitachon is a muscle. Habitachon helps you strengthen it every day.
