Bitachon and Burnout: You Don’t Need to Exhaust Yourself for Parnassah
One who trusts finds peace in pursuing his livelihood.
Chovot Halevavot – Shaar Habitachon
You Don’t Need to Burn Out to Be Blessed
Bitachon doesn’t mean you stop working.
It means you stop believing that your exhaustion is what produces your parnassah.
Rabbeinu Bachya teaches that people are naturally suited to different kinds of work, and a person should pursue the livelihood that fits his nature and abilities.
You still show up. You still work hard.
But Hashem doesn’t need you destroyed in order to provide for you.
Reflection
Am I working hard because this is my hishtadlut, or pushing myself beyond what is healthy because I’m afraid everything depends on me?
Today’s Avodah
Before pushing yourself harder today, ask:
“Is this necessary hishtadlut, or is this fear?”
Then remind yourself:
“My effort matters. The outcome belongs to Hashem.”
Carry today’s avodah with you and return tomorrow.

What is Habitachon?
Habitachon helps you build a daily practice of growing in bitachon: one Torah insight, one reflection, and one practical avodah, in about one minute.
The one minute is your daily minimum. The goal is not to finish more content. It is to return each day and gradually bring more trust in Hashem into real life.
Start with the guided seven-day beginning. Choose a dependable daily moment, protect the one-minute minimum, and then continue with the current Habitachon lesson each day.
Bitachon is a muscle. Habitachon helps you strengthen it every day.
