Don’t Pretend You Know Why
The reason for one person's hardship or another person's ease may be completely different from someone else's.
Chovot Halevavot – Shaar Habitachon
Some Answers Are Hidden From Us
When something painful happens, the mind wants a clean explanation. We can do the same thing when we look at someone else’s life. Rabbeinu Bachya warns us that the reason may be different in every case. Some of it is simply hidden from us. That leaves room for a quieter kind of bitachon: admitting what you do not know and focusing on how you want to respond now.
Reflection
Where have I been trying to force one explanation onto something I cannot really know?
Today’s Avodah
Say: “Hashem, I do not know why. Help me respond well to what is in front of me.”

What is Habitachon?
Habitachon helps you build a daily practice of growing in bitachon: one Torah insight, one reflection, and one practical avodah, in about one minute.
The one minute is your daily minimum. The goal is not to finish more content. It is to return each day and gradually bring more trust in Hashem into real life.
Start with the guided seven-day beginning. Choose a dependable daily moment, protect the one-minute minimum, and then continue with the current Habitachon lesson each day.
Bitachon is a muscle. Habitachon helps you strengthen it every day.
