Don’t Appoint Two Bosses Over the Outcome
Rabbeinu Bachya compares divided trust to appointing two supervisors over the same job.
Chovot Halevavot – Shaar Habitachon
Your Heart Needs to Know Who Is in Charge
Rabbeinu Bachya gives a simple picture: imagine putting two people in charge of the same job as independent bosses. The arrangement is confused from the start. We can do something similar inside our own head. Hashem is in charge, and then we quietly give a person, paycheck, doctor, or plan its own separate power. Keep using the means. Stop promoting them to co-manager of the outcome.
Reflection
What have I quietly promoted from a useful tool to a second source of security?
Today’s Avodah
Picture that tool back in its proper place and say: “Hashem, You are the One in charge here.”
Carry today’s avodah with you and return tomorrow.

What is Habitachon?
Habitachon helps you build a daily practice of growing in bitachon: one Torah insight, one reflection, and one practical avodah, in about one minute.
The one minute is your daily minimum. The goal is not to finish more content. It is to return each day and gradually bring more trust in Hashem into real life.
Start with the guided seven-day beginning. Choose a dependable daily moment, protect the one-minute minimum, and then continue with the current Habitachon lesson each day.
Bitachon is a muscle. Habitachon helps you strengthen it every day.
