Happy Thoughts, 2 Minutes and Infinite Monkeys

Welcome to Amir's Notes.

My ADHD doesn't let my brain slow down for a second.  To clear up some space, I write down my thoughts, ideas, and things I am working through, in one of many notepads or note apps that I have.  I started organizing the many notes and thought that you and others may enjoy some of my notes.  So I started "Amir's Notes" to share a few of my thoughts and ideas weekly.

Please enjoy, share and reply to me with your thoughts, feedback, and what you want to know more about.  I read every email.

NOTE 01

One Happy Thought

It wasn't just Peter Pan who needed one happy thought. We all need one.

One Happy thought is like a candle in a dark room.  It has the power to light up the entire space.

One thing to look forward to. One special person in your life. One purpose to live for.

That one thing can carry you through the darkest and toughest times.

There is nothing greater than a relationship with Hashem.

NOTE 02

Start with 2 Minutes

The biggest barrier to doing anything is getting started.

The Yetzer Harah knows that is the most powerful play.  He tries to stop us from doing good. The higher the potential, the harder he works to stop us.  That's why erev shabbat and before weddings are such popular times for arguments to pop up.

Trick your Yetzer Harah by saying you’re only going to do 2 minutes and then you can stop.  Writing, learning, work, exercise, chores...

Once you get started, you’ll be ok doing more.

NOTE 03

Infinite Monkeys

They say an infinite number of monkeys at an infinite number of typewriters could eventually write the complete works of Shakespeare.

But it only takes one person sitting down to learn every day to finish Shas.

The same goes for almost anything big you've ever wanted to accomplish.

You can be that person.
