About Social Media
Traditional Media: Develop a message that you hope will attract customers and then yell it out as loud as you can through print media, radio, TV, and any other way you can get people to listen to your monologue.
Social Media: Opening up a 2-way conversation with your customers and interacting with them like human beings. People are tired of being yelled at, they are bored of advertising and have no patience for companies telling them what to do.
Studies have found that the average person would believe a complete stranger’s opinion over a company’s word. When shopping for a product, people would rather read user’s reviews than read what the seller has to say about it.
Social Media allows companies to speak with their consumers and be perceived as human as opposed to the big box mart that most companies are seen as. We now live in a world where consumers and companies can communicate and develop respect for one another and even friendship. Best of all, consumers are likely to be loyal to their friends.
There are so many tools to promote yourself or your company that if you are not using them, you are really missing out. Your customers don’t use the Yellow Pages anymore because Google is just so much easier. In just a few seconds, not only can a service be found but with a couple of clicks, it can be accompanied by what other people thought of them, which can save a lot of time and money.
How easily can you be found online? Try putting your name into a Google search and see what your customers are seeing.
